SciTech.lk is an online bookstore providing science and technology books for Advanced Level (A/L) students.
We carefully check and pack every order. However, in rare cases, a mistake may happen. This policy explains how returns, refunds, and store credits are handled in a simple and fair way.

1. When Can I Request a Return or Refund?

You may request a return, replacement, or refund only if:

You received a wrong book, or
The book was damaged during delivery

🕒 Please contact us within 48 hours of receiving your parcel.

2. Book Condition Requirements

To be eligible for a return:

The book must be unused
No writing, highlighting, torn pages, or damage
The book must be in the same condition as received
Proof of purchase (invoice / order number) is required 
 

3. When Returns or Refunds Are NOT Accepted

We cannot accept returns or refunds if:

You ordered the wrong book by mistake
You changed your mind after delivery
The book is used or damaged after delivery
The request is made after 48 hours
The book was purchased during a sale or special discount

Because these are academic books, used copies cannot be accepted.

4. Delivery Methods & Important Notes

We deliver using:

Cash on Delivery (COD)
Sri Lanka Post
Courier services
Local Pickup

🔹 For Local Pickup, please check the books before leaving
🔹 For courier or postal deliveries, outer package damage is acceptable, but book damage or wrong items are fully covered

5. Return Shipping Cost & Store Credit

If the return is due to our mistake (wrong or damaged book),
👉 SciTech.lk will cover the return shipping cost
Instead of refunding this amount to a bank account, the shipping cost will be given as store credit to your SciTech.lk account
This store credit:
o Can be used for any future purchase
o Does not expire
o Is automatically applied at checkout
 

6. Change of Mind During Order Processing (Pre-Paid Orders Only)

If you have already paid online and request to remove one or more books while the order is still being processed (before shipping):

The value of the removed book(s) may be converted to store credit
Cash refunds are not guaranteed for such changes
This applies only to pre-paid orders, not COD orders

This allows flexibility while keeping order processing smooth and fair.

7. How to Request a Return, Refund, or Store Credit

Please email sales@scitech.lk within 48 hours, including:

Order number
Clear photos of the book(s) received
Photo of the invoice or delivery label

Our team will review your request and respond within 2–3 working days.

8. Refund Method & Time

🔹 Online Card Payments

Approved refunds will be sent directly back to the same card used for payment
Processing time depends on your bank
Usually takes 5–10 working days

🔹 Cash on Delivery (COD) Orders

Refunds will be provided as:
o Store credit, or
o Bank transfer, based on agreement

🔹 Store Credit Usage

Used automatically at checkout
Can be combined with other payments
Cannot be exchanged for cash
 

9. Replacements

If we sent a wrong or damaged book, we will:

Replace it with the correct book, or
Issue a refund if the book is unavailable
